Amazon Kindle Fire 2 hasn’t been much of a headline grabber lately and thanks to the recent release of Android devices like Samsung Galaxy Note 2, the successor to the Kindle series was almost neglected as just another rumor.
However, that changed when thousands of people got a chance to get a sneak peak at the Kindle Fire 2 and the Kindle e-reader through a teaser commercial which aired a few days ago.
Even though the video doesn’t give away anything regarding the tech specs, price, release dates or even the official names of the devices shown, experts see it as a pretty solid evidence to confirm the existence for the much awaited Amazon Kindle Fire 2.
The short 1 minute commercial also seems to confirm many of the leaks which we have seen so far, for instance the commercial begins with featuring a backlit E Ink Kindle reader which is very similar to what we saw in the previous “Paperwhite” leaks. Another example of confirming an Amazon leak through the commercial is when just a few seconds before the ending, a women is shown watching a video on a tablet with very large display and had definitely Amazon branding on it. Hence, it is very safe to assume that the Kindle Fire 2 would be coming in two sizes; 8.9-inch and 10-inch.
As for the tech specs, there hasn’t been much on that except a few rumors, but here is how a rough tech sheet goes. The Amazon Kindle Fire 2 is rumored to be coming with a quad core processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, microUSB ports and, possibly, HDMI-out jacks. It is pretty obvious that the Amazon Kindle Fire 2 would skip on basic functions like GPS, camera and microphone.
As far as the price is concerned for the Amazon Kindle Fire 2, just like its tech specs, the price is also more that of speculations made by experts instead of leaks. Currently, speculations point out that the device would most probably coming with a $199 price tag.
