Apple iPhone 5 vs HTC One X: A Disappointing Comparison?
Apple iPhone 5 and HTC One X, both have been released for quite a while now, and even though both of these phones have an entirely different OS, they both do have one thing in common. Before the release of both of these smart phones, tech gurus anticipated that both of these would be one of the best phones we have ever seen, but as fate would had it, it ultimately turned out that Apple iPhone 5 and HTC One X both are nothing more than a disappointment.
Apple iPhone 5 is a disappointment because its tech specs lie somewhere between in the average and below average category. As for the HTC One X, despite of its quad core processor, things got messed up really bad due to the multitasking bug/feature in it. Anyways, here is how a “disappointing” comparison between Apple iPhone 5 and HTC One X goes.
Design And Bodybuild
Both, iPhone 5 and HTC One X, have a unibody design and don’t have a removable battery. However, while the iPhone 5 follows the same old traditional design of the iPhone series with a new metal back cover and other few minor adjustments, the polycarbonate body of HTC One X has a design to die for, the kick stand which is seen in the sprint version of the device(aka HTC Evo 4G LTE) is capable enough to win your heart in a matter of seconds.
Winner: HTC One X
No doubt, the iPhone 5 has build quality that is comparable to HTC One X, but we really wanted to see something new here.
Among the many reasons why iPhone 5 is a disappointment, the comparatively slow ARM A6 1.5 GHz dual core processor tops the list. The HTC One X’s Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad-core 1.5 GHz heart on the other hand, is no disappointment at all and can handle the heaviest tasks very efficiently.
Winner: HTC One X,
The One X has a clock speed that is far greater than the iPhone 5.
All of the Apple products are best know for the screen quality they offer, but suprisingly enough, the iPhone 5′s 4 inch screen has a resolution(640 x 1136 px) that is equal to or lower than most of the high end Android devices. As for HTC One X, it comes with a 4.7 inch Super IPS LCD2 with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.
Winner: HTC One X
Bigger Display and better resolution, what’s left to say?
The iPhone 5 comes with a relatively small battery of 1,418mAh battery which according the Cupertino based company is capable enough to provide a talk time of up to 8 hours over 3G. As for HTC One X, it features a 1800 mAh and while no official data has been provided, users have said that the device could easily give about 8 hours of talktime over 3G.
As far as memory is concerned, since both the phones do not support a microSD card, it is the internal memory which has to bear the burden. The iPhone 5 comes with 16/32/64GB of internal memory while the HTC One X has only 32 GB (26 GB user-available) of internal storage. Both of them have 1GB of RAM.
Winner: iPhone 5
The former has more and better storage options available.
Both, iPhone 5 and HTC One X, have all the standard connectivity features like 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, etc. However, while the iPhone 5 has 4G LTE packed in itself and lacks NFC connectivity, the case is just reverse with HTC One X which has NFC but no 4G LTE (only the US version has 4G).
As already told earlier, the HTC One X is a marvelous phone in terms of tech specs, the only problem is its insane task killing. So if you are someone who can sacrifice his warranty and install a custom OS, the One X is definitely a better choice than iPhone 5 for you.
