ASUS Padfone 2 has finally hit the headlines and this time with something we all love to hear, on your right side is what you see is claimed to be a picture of the back of the Padfone 2′s retail packaging.
If the picture is really what it claims to be, then the ASUS Padfone 2 will be dropping in with some serious fire power under its hood. The snapshot has revealed that just like how it was previously being speculated and rumored, the device would indeed come with a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and to complement it the device would also have 2GB RAM, a 13 MP rear and 1.2 MP front camera and the best of all, a 4.7-inch Super IPS+ HD display with a resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels.
The leak also suggests that the ASUS Padfone 2 will be only 9mm thick while still managing to pack a 2140mAh battery within itself. The device would also feature Bluetooth 4.0 and will be 4G LTE compatible so it might turn out to be a treat for people living in the 4G LTE covered region. The Android version is not specified in the above shot, but it wouldn’t be wrong to expect Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
As for the price and release date, it is being speculated that the ASUS Padfone 2 would either come with the same price tag as its predecessor or with a little extra premium added to it, however, by any means the unlocked version of the device would not cost more than $900. Whatever the case might be, it would all be confirmed at the ASUS Padfone 2 launch event which is scheduled for October 16th. It is being expected among the tech gurus that due to the heavy price tag and ASUS branding, the Padfone 2 would also come with a pretty solid build.
So as of now, we are impressed, really impressed from the tech specs of the device and if everything goes well, the big boys of the smartphone market is going to face some tough competition.
