iOS 6 beta 2 was released by Apple for developers yesterday, and you will be glad to hear that iOS 6 beta 2 can still be jailbreaked with RedSn0w 0.9.13dev1.
It goes without saying that this is still a tethered jailbreak for iOS 6 beta 2 and will not install Cydia. The iPhone developers team is still queued up for releasing an updated version of RedSn0w which will support the second beta.
So if you want to Jailbreak iOS 6 you would first have to point to the first beta firmware to Jailbreak iOS 6 Beta 2.
Here is a little guide on how to jailbreak iOS 6 Beta 2 Using RedSn0w
Before beginning, it must be noted that this is specifically made for developers and currently this only works for A4 devices, and iOS 6 beta 1 must be needed in order to jailbreak iOS 6 beta 2.
How to Jailbreak iOS 6 Beta 2 for iPhone 5 and other devices
Step 1: Install iOS 6 beta 2.
Step 2: Place your iPhone 5 into DFU mode.
Step 4: Head to Extras > Select IPSW > and point it to your iOS 6 beta 1 firmware.
Step 5: Head back to the main screen of RedSn0w, make sure “Install SSH” is check and click Jailbreak.
Step 6: Once complete, put your iPhone 5 back into DFU mode. You will then need to go to Extras > Select IPSW, and once again point to your iOS 6 beta 1 firmware. Than Click Just boot from the Extras screen and that’s all! Your iPhone 5 is now jailbroken on iOS 6 beta 2!
Since the jailbreak trick is still working for iOS 6 beta 2 hopes are higher than ever that it will also work on the final iOS 6. Feel free to comment, if it worked for you or not.
If a few tech blogs are to be believed, then iOS 6 will come with almost 200 new features and the most notable new feature will be Apple maps with full Yelp integration allowing users to ‘check in’ directly through the map app. iOS 6 is expected to release in the coming few weeks and it is rumored that iPhone 5 will be released some days after the release of iOS 6.
