Motorola Droid RAZR HD vs Droid RAZR MAXX, Which Droid To Put Money On? Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX e1341242001886 192x300Motorola Droid RAZR HD is all set to release in the coming weeks while the Droid RAZR MAXX is already selling like hot cakes in market just like its predecessors in the Droid series.

Here goes the full detailed comparison between Motorola Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR MAXX.

Design and Body Build

Since both the smartphones are from the same Droid series, it is very obvious that any major difference can’t be spotted between Motorola Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR MAXX, just a few touch ups here and there in the RAZR MAXX and you will have the design for Droid RAZR HD.

If a few leaked pictures leaked on the internet are really of the Droid RAZR HD then it seems that the Droid RAZR HD will inherit the same carbon fiber building material which was used in its predecessor Droid RAZR MAXX.

Processor

Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX features a 1.20 GHz TI OMAP4430 Dual Core processor while on the other hand Droid RAZR HD is rumored to have a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 heart. So you can expect the Droid RAZR HD to have a greater CPU speed than the Droid RAZR.

Display

According to some leaks, Motorola Droid RAZR HD will come with an unusual resolution of 720 x 1196 in a 4.3 inch display while the Droid RAZR MAXX features a resolution of 960 x 540 in a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display. So it is a clear win for the Droid RAZR HD in this category.

Camera

Recently, a picture which claimed to be snapped from the Droid RAZR HD leaked on Picasa, the picture clearly proved that the Droid RAZR HD will feature a 13 MP camera which if true will totally outdo the 8 MP camera in the current Droid RAZR MAXX.

Battery

Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX features a monstrous battery of 3100mAh and if rumors are to be believed then the Droid RAZR HD is most likely to follow the same tradition. So it is a tie as far as the the battery backup is concerned.

OS

Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX comes with Android v2.3 Ginger Bread while the RAZR HD will probably come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (or Jelly Bean), so another clear win for the Droid RAZR HD.

Connectivity

Apart from the usual connectivity options like 3G, WiFi, bluetooth, both the Droid RAZR MAXX and Droid RAZR HD have support for 4G LTE. It is still not confirmed whether the Droid RAZR HD will feature NFC or not but by seeing the market trends it most probably would.

Conclusion

Motorola Droid RAZR HD can be said an upgraded version of Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX in terms of screen resolution, camera and processor. So unless and until you really need an Android smartphone right now we would highly recommend you to wait till the Motorola Droid RAZR HD officially releases before you make any decision.

Just a tweak, the Maxx has a 3300mAh battery, not 3100.

Actually the Droid Razr Maxx already has Android 4.0 so the Razr HD will most likely come with 4.0 and be upgraded to 4.1 a month or too after its release.
