Motorola Droid RAZR Vs Samsung Galaxy S3, Legend Vs Epic Reviewed Motorola DROID RAZR1 e1343146902273Motorola Droid RAZR was one of the first few smartphones which introduced Android to the masses and in fact the success for Android as a platform could be very much credited to the success of Motorola Droid RAZR as a phone and this is the sole reason why we consider it as a legend among the Android powered smartphones.

However, we questioned ourselves… where does the Motorola Droid RAZR stand when compared to the Samsung Galaxy S3? S3 is currently considered as the best Android smartphone available in the market.

Here goes the full head on comparison between Motorola Droid RAZR and Samsung Galaxy S3.

Design And Bodybuild

Thanks to a Kevlar Fiber back, a scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass screen, and even a water-repellent coating, Motorola Droid RAZR is what can be truly called a durable device. The Droid RAZR gives a very solid feel while holding and is not at all slippery. The diamond-cut accent, zig-zag pattern on the back, and angled corners just add the extra charms to the design of Droid RAZR.

Samsung Galaxy S3 on the other hand, has been an eye candy for many users, most particularly the pebble blue color. But users have often complained that the Samsung Galaxy S3 gives a too ‘plasticky’ feeling while holding and is too fragile. In fact, you might end up praying every time that the back cover doesn’t break when you remove the battery or when the phone suffers a fall.

Samsung Galaxy S3 features a Snapdragon S4 Dual core 1.5 GHz processor which is little more than what we get from TI OMAP 4430 Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 processor of the Motorola Droid RAZR. However, both the phones have enough processing power to run all the apps in the Google Play Store flawlessly.

Motorola Droid RAZR comes with a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 540 x 960 px giving it a pixel density of nearly ~256 ppi but before you get impressed by the Motorola Droid RAZR here are the numbers for Samsung Galaxy S3. The S3 features a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a pixel density of 306 ppi. Which means that the Samsung Galaxy S3 does not only have a 12% bigger screen and 23% higher pixel density than the Droid RAZR but also 1.8 times more screen resolution.

Winner: Samsung Galaxy S3.

Both Motorola Droid Razr and Samsung Galaxy S3 have nearly the same mega pixels to offer in the camera but just for the sake of formality, Motorola Droid RAZR comes with a 8MP rear camera and 2 MP front camera while the Samsung Galaxy S3 also comes with a 8MP rear camera and a 1.9 MP front camera. Both the phones are capable of shooting HD videos from either of the camera. However, Samsung Galaxy S3′s camera app has some great features and can take multiple shots within a second.

Winner: Samsung Galaxy S3.

Battery is an area where any phone in the Droid series phones has never disappointed us and we hope they never do in the future too. Motorola Droid RAZR has a 1,780mAh battery but the Galaxy S3 has a 2100 mAh battery. Although the Galaxy S3 has a bigger battery, it features a quad core processor which sucks up most of its battery backup.

Winner: Tie.

Motorola Droid RAZR had plenty of connectivity options during its release time like 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth. But as the time passed and more connectivity options surfaced out like, NFC and 4G LTE, which currently only a few latest smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S3 feature.

Sorry but some of your statement is wrong. The Motorola Droid RAZR was not the first android phone to bring Android to masses. It was the Motorola Droid that has those distinguish honors! Do the math….as a matter of fact there is a lot of the (OG) Droids still out there. And was a favorite amongst dev communities. And you were right about the Droid line……tough to put down, especially for a Samsung product that feels like a toy…..
