Nokia Windows Phone 8 Release Date Set to September 5th?
Microsoft and Nokia both haven’t done any major release in quite a while now, but now that release date rumors for Windows phone 8 and Nokia Lumia are picking up, things are about to change.
Apparently, a report from the TheVerge indicates that Nokia and Microsoft are sending invites for a Windows Phone 8 and Nokia Lumia event on September 5th at 9:30 AM in New York City and since both the giants brands are included in the invitations, we are bound to see at least one Nokia Windows Phone 8 release and even if we don’t (god forbid that), we sure will get some rock solid release dates for the Windows Phone 8 devices.
Call it a coincidence or what, but the invites were sent shortly after the world saw the first few leaks of the Nokia Phi, a high-end Windows 8 smartphone which is said to be releasing on September 5th.
So, it would appear that Nokia and Microsoft want to fit the announcement in ahead of the iPhone 5 announcement which is currently rumored to be taking place on September 12th.
So far, the rumored tech specs of Nokia Phi only says that the device will have a strong resemblance to the Nokia Lumia 800, a 4.65-inch display. an external SD card slot, NFC, and 4G LTE
The pic at the right side is what rumored to be the front panel of the Nokia Phi. The picture clearly shows that the Windows Phone 8 device will feature a 4.3 inch display making it in the league of Android smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2 and the rumored iPhone 5, all of whom are sporting at least a 4 inch display.
Apart from all of the above, the only thing known about Nokia Phi is that it could be a mid-priced device like its predecessors the Nokia Lumia 710 and the Nokia Lumia 610.
