Samsung Galaxy Note 2 vs Apple iPhone 5, A Rumor War

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 vs Apple iPhone 5, A Rumor War Samsung Galaxy Note 2 300x200Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Apple iPhone 5, both have their release and launch dates in the coming few weeks and believe it or not, both have seen more than enough rumors and speculations for us to do a full on comparison between both of these yet to be released successors of their respective series.

Physical Features

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Apple iPhone 5, both differ way too much in terms of size, weight and width.

Leaks suggest that the Note’s successor will even surpass the original Note and will come with a 5.5 inch display which means that you will probably see even bigger “tablet” which surely, would be big enough that neither it could be operated with one hand nor it could be adjusted in your pocket comfortably.

As for the iPhone 5, there have been many leaked pictures suggesting that the next gen iPhone would also possess a larger 4.0 inch screen and a little taller yet of same width panel which means that the iPhone 5 would have more or less, the dimensions of the iPhone 4S.

Display

As stated earlier, currently the rumor has it that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 would be coming with a monstrous 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720(pixel density~267ppi) which for those keeping scores at home is the same type of display as used in the Samsung Galaxy S3, but of course, in a smaller size.

The Apple iPhone 5 on the other hand, has seen leaks which are more than enough to confirm that it would be coming with a 4 inch display which may or not come with the famous retina display. However, seeing the competition, it most probably will.

Processor

Samsung Galaxy Note 2′s processor is yet to have a confirmation but currently bloggers and tech pundits from all around the world are speculating that either the latest addition to the Note family will be coming with a 2GHz proprietary Exynos 5250 quad-core chip or a 1.6 GHz quad-core Exynos 4412 chipset.

Just like the former, the iPhone 5 is also yet to have its processor confirmed. However, seeing how Apple has done away with the past iPhones, currently the safest bet is that the next gen iPhone would be coming with the same A5X Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processor which was seen in the new iPad. There are also some rumors going around, that Apple foreseeing the competition might even end up in putting a quad core heart in the yet to be released iPhone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 just like most of the latest Galaxy members would definitely come with NFC and 4G connectivity and it is being rumored that it will also come with a 12MP rear camera, at least 16GB of internal memory with more storage options available and the choice of using a microSD card up to 64GB, 1 or 2GB RAM and since it has quite some time since Jelly Bean made its debut, the Note’s successor might also come with the latest Android OS.

Apple iPhone 5 tech specs are also based on rumors and speculations, but here is how the list goes.
4G LTE connectivity(since the new iPad has it, the next iPhone is bound to have LTE), NFC, at least an 8 MP rear camera and an improved front camera(the iPhone 4S front camera is terrible), at least 16 GB of internal storage which as usual can’t be increased through a microSD card slot, 1GB of RAM and most probably iOS 6.

Verdict

Since both of these high end smartphones are releasing in about the same time frame, they both have nearly the same tech specs. So unless and until you love a big monster in your palm, which is bound to attract attention, the iPhone 5 would be better choice for you.
