If you own a Sprint Galaxy Nexus or Nexus S 4G, then you must have probably got the sweet taste of Jelly Bean on your device thanks to the OTA update that is rolling out via Sprint.
Proud owners of Galaxy Nexus can grab the update by going to the official Sprint Galaxy Nexus official page and installing the latest version in case they don’t already have it.
As for the Nexus S 4G, the Jelly Bean update could be grabbed over the air. The handset users will receive a notification which would ask them if they want to install the update now or later. If the user taps the later option, he will get reminders twice in each day till the day, update is installed
It has been already confirmed in the Sprint’s official forums, via a Sprint employee through a post that the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OTA update for Sprint Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S 4G would be rather slow, and it might take over a week to hit all the devices in town. Below is the exact message which Sprint employee posted.
“Jelly Bean update has started from Google Over The Air server and will be a slow roll out. Checking for an update will only work if your Nexus S has received the prompt to Install Now or Install Later. The Jelly Bean update will take little over a week to reach all Nexus S phones customers.
Included with Jelly Bean update is users should no longer receive Garbled Text Messages with No Sender”
Apart from the goodness which Android 4.1 Jelly Bean comes with, after the OTA update your Nexus device would have an improved notification bar, a better voice search functionality, dictation that works offline, and obviously, the smoother UI thanks to the Project Butter.
Be sure to hit the comments when you grab the Android 4.1 OTA update on your Sprint Galaxy Nexus or Nexus S 4G.
