The price of the much acclaimed portable console from Nintendo is all set to drop from $249 to $169 in the US on the 12th of August. Although this is probably due to heat from Sony’s next generation portable (NGP) – the PlayStation Vita, it is a decision that makes the 3D portable gaming experience available to more people more easily.
The price cut is probably a smart move, considering the fact that the 3DS cannot match the PlayStation Vita in terms of raw processing power (The vita sports a state of the art Quad-Core processor).

If you already shelled out 250 bucks for the 3DS, Nintendo has you covered. If you logged in to the eShop at least once before the price cut, you get 10 free NES virtual console games as well as 10 more Game Boy Advance virtual console games. Whew! That’s quite a freebie fix!

Do you want to harmonize your vocal with Fergie by downloading free music from the Blackeyed Peas? Let’s throw in a free 3D version of The Green Hornet movie as well, which you can playback on your HTC Evo 3D. Does that sound alluring enough for you? These are the bonuses that you will apparently get when you purchase the phone on Radio Shack.
One of the perks of being a journalist or analyst of some sort is that you get invitation to cover various tech events, such as the Google I/O one. Lucky attendees can sometimes walk out with the latest gadget in town – often for zilch. Once you’re bored showing off the toy to your friend and family – naturally eBay will be waiting. Such is the case with the LG Optimus 3D, which has been put up for sale by several sellers on the auction site.
