Motorola Fixes Incompatibility Issue of Banking Apps on Atrix 4G

Motorola Fixes Incompatibility Issue of Banking Apps on Atrix 4G Atrix 4G 300x199Having problems with the online banking app on your Motorola Atrix 4G phone? You’re not the only one, because there have been many reports of incompatibility between the 4.1.83 update that was pushed out by the company for the Atrix in early May with some banking apps on the phone. Fortunately, a fix for your online banking woe is on its merry way.

Getting the fix is as simple as following the instructions below:

Make sure you have the latest firmware update for your Atrix 4G.
Download the new Atrix Certificate updater from the Android market.
Open the downloaded file and follow the prompts.
Your banking app should be working fine with no hitch now.

If you’re not sure whether or not you need the update, some affected banking apps on the Atrix 4G that have been reported before include “Chase” and “Bank of America” banking apps. Good on Motorola for spotting the problem and coming up with a solution in a quick manner. Wish the same could be said about providing update to the latest Android OS.

HTC Makes it Hard to Mod HTC Sensation; Demo Video Released

HTC Makes it Hard to Mod HTC Sensation; Demo Video Released Sensation 4G 300x168There’s some good news about the HTC Sensation – and there’s some equally bad news. Nothing too upsetting, mind you. To start off, we’ll start with the bad news.

Like many phones before the Sensation, it’s not uncommon for the software to precede the hardware from being released – whether unofficially or not. AndroidPolice has done some digging of the HTC Sensation’s system dump – and apparently the bootloader is locked and signed. To mess around with the ROM, developers will need that special key from HTC.

This doesn’t mean that there won’t be any custom ROMs for the HTC Sensation. It’s just going to take folks longer to first crack the protection system.

As for the good news, the Sensation is shaping up to be quite the super phone that we all thought it’d be. To drum up interest, HTC has posted a video showcasing the many abilities of the phone. And many it does have – from the new Sense 3.0 with active lockscreen, to the phone maker’s new HTC Watch that streams movies and TV shows to the device.  With a 1.2GHz dual core processor on board, it seems very promising.

Okay, maybe we’re less than thrilled that HTC aren’t really following Samsung’s trail of releasing source code of their phones. They even released it for the flagship Galaxy S II. But since it’s HTC, we’ll overlook this one mishap.

Amazon Discounts HTC Thunderbolt 4G to $129

Amazon Discounts HTC Thunderbolt 4G to $129 Thunderbolt 300x212Amazon is having one of its “get it while it’s hot” offerAmazon Discounts HTC Thunderbolt 4G to $129 – and the deal of the moment is for the HTC Thunderbolt. Not too keen on getting the HTC Thunderbolt 4G on regular price at Verizon stores? The online retailer has come to your rescue where the phone is priced only at $129.99Amazon Discounts HTC Thunderbolt 4G to $129 .

There are some fine prints that you should know though. The $129.99 deal only applies to new customers of Verizon – and it comes with a two-year contract. Existing customers will have to cough up $179.99. Still, they are much better than the $250 that Verizon is asking for the 4G phone.

This isn’t the first time Amazon has discounted the phone, because back in March they were doing the same thing. Do you reckon the retailer isn’t selling as much stock as it’d hoped?

It’s best to get on with the purchase if you want some 4G goodness on your phone – provided your area is within Verizon’s 4G network coverage.

Not to be outdone, Amazon’s competitor Best Buy is reportedly willing to offer the HTC Thunderbolt 4G at the same promotional price. Gottabemobile posted the story of how they were able to convince their local Best Buy stores to match the price. It’s something worth trying out.

1.4GHz Samsung Exhibit 4G Passes FCC; Coming to T-Mobile

Another day, another new Android handset leaked on the web, and another FCC filing is shared with the world. Life wouldn’t be complete if we don’t have Samsung release yet another Android phone – not that there’s anything wrong with that. This time, Samsung is set to introduce the Exhibit 4G phone. But what’s so different about the phone that can separate it from the rest of the packs?

1.4GHz Samsung Exhibit 4G Passes FCC; Coming to T Mobile Exhibit 4G

The Samsung Exhibit 4G is a 3.7-incher phone with a Super AMOLED screen that is powered by a 1.4-GHz ARM11 processor. Aside from the usual, the phone will come with Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread, front VGA camera, and a 5-megapixels rear camera with LED flash.

While the phone has received the blessing of FCC, as it passed their certification test, no launch date has been set yet for the phone that is formally known as the SGH-T759. What we can tell you is that the phone will be heading for T-Mobile.

Even though T-Mobile has been losing its steam in Q1 2011 – among other major carriers in the US, where it placed fourth – it’s good to know that they still keep bringing on the Android goods to the market. This should be a good enough distraction until the real game changer – the Samsung Galaxy S II – decides to come out and play.
