Samsung Galaxy S II Gets Rebranded as the Attain, Within and Function Galaxy S II 300x234Seriously, has there been an Android phone that’s been rebranded so many times like the original Samsung Galaxy S? We’re not just talking about rebranding by major carriers, but also regional ones. The classic phone is about to receive some real competition, as word has it that the Galaxy S II has been eyed by so many wireless carriers in the US – eager to rename it to something predictably silly. Meh, what’s in a name anyway?

Thanks to Pocketnow, we can tell you what names they have lining up for the Samsung Galaxy S II. How do Attain, Within and Function sound to your ear? Like it or not, these are what AT&T, Sprint and Verizon will rename their version of Samsung Galaxy S II phones. So that’s AT&T Attain, Sprint Within and Verizon Function.  How do we know it’s real? The names actually matched what Samsung have filed for registration a while back — so that will be the Galaxy Attain, Within and Function.

Notably missing from the list is T-Mobile, which could be planning to release a slight variant of the model later on. It’s also possible that the carrier feels like they have too much on their Android plates and will only concentrate on one flagship phone in the form of the HTC Sensation.

Despite the leak of their names – no launch date has been confirmed by Samsung and the respective wireless carrier.

White iPhone 4 to Hit Best Buy on April 27? 32GB Model May Not Be Available

This may be the month of April, but you won’t be fooled to think that the white iPhone 4 will actually ship pretty soon. Leaked inventory listing from Best Buy has sort of confirmed that the elusive phone will be up for grabs tomorrow on April 27. While the screenshot may make it seem that only AT&T model of the white iPhone 4 will be sold, some believe that the Verizon model will also be made available on that day.

Apparently, Best Buy stores nationwide have been receiving promotional materials of the white iPhone 4 – with the actual stocks of the phone to arrive soon.

Here’s a something that may be bit of a downer though. If report from BGR is accurate, there may be no AT&T’s 32GB model of the white iPhone 4 for sale. According to an internal AT&T UPS shipping invoice they got a hold of, it only details of white iPhone 4 16GB models. We don’t see why Apple would not make the 32GB model available though, so take the report with a huge grain of salt.

It’s a bit odd though that we have not received any official news from Apple, AT&T and Verizon about the white iPhone 4. The only official wordings were from Apple’s Phil Schiller which said that the phone will ship in spring. But that’s hardly comforting for those who have been waiting for the white phone for so long – that they had to resort to using tip-ex.

Then again, we did see that Vodafone-bound white iPhone 4 – complete with the model number MC604B/A. So there’s no reason to believe that it’s not coming soon in the US – and other parts of the world. When it does come, it will surely soften the blow that Apple will probably experience by not having the iPhone 5 ready by the summer.
